Conditional Cash Transfer Not For Coronavirus Palliative – Peter Obi

The former Anambra State Governor and PDP Vice Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi,  has told the federal government to stop deceiving Nigerians.

Obi who was a guest on Channels Television “Sunrise Daily” program on Wednesday, said the conditional cash transfer has been in existence before Coronavirus came and wondered why the government will be taking it as a palliative for Coronavirus.

According to him Magnus Kpakol, former NAPEP National Coordinator, started conditional cash transfer and the scheme has been on since Obasanjo era, "it is amazing how APC government wants people to believe it is a Coronavirus palliative."

Obi, however, pointed out that huge numbers of Nigerians who are not on the conditional cash transfer register are suffering as a result of Coronavirus and have gotten nothing from government.

He therefore pleaded with the government to make money available to help Nigerians who are going through hardship as a result of Coronavirus lockdown.
