The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has responded to the outcome of the local government elections held in Anambra State on Saturday. The BoT, led by the party's founder and pioneer National Chairman, Chief Chekwas Okorie, congratulated all the winners of the elections.
According
to report, APGA won all the chairmanship and councillorship positions in the
election. In a statement released on Monday, Chief Okorie expressed his
appreciation for the efforts of the party leadership and commended the National
Chairman, Chief Edozie Njoku, for his role in leading a rigorous campaign that
led to the party's overwhelming victory.

"I
doff my hat to the National Chairman, Chief Edozie Njoku, who led from the
front, running a rigorous campaign for our candidates, which resulted in this
overwhelming victory," Chief Okorie stated. He emphasized that the
election success has laid a strong foundation for APGA to secure victory in the
upcoming Anambra State governorship election in November 2025.

to Governor Soludo
Chief
Okorie called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to promptly swear in the newly
elected chairmen and councillors, all of whom were sponsored by APGA under
Chief Edozie Njoku's leadership as National Chairman. Okorie emphasized that
this action should be taken in line with the provisions of the 1999
Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) and the Electoral
Act.
He
added, "I urge Professor Chukwuma Soludo, the Governor of Anambra State,
to proceed without delay to swear into office the lawful and legitimate
Chairmen-elect and Councillors-elect duly sponsored by APGA, led by Chief
Edozie Njoku, in accordance with the clear and unambiguous provisions of the
1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended and the
Electoral Act."
Okorie
further encouraged Governor Soludo to use this opportunity to demonstrate his
loyalty to APGA and adherence to the rule of law, consistent with the oath of
office he took. "This is the path of honor for the governor," he
added, urging Soludo to uphold the principles of party supremacy and legal
compliance.
