Detailed Information:
The
Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced that
the result slips for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)
are now available for candidates to print. This announcement was made on
Monday, with the Board emphasizing the importance of following the correct
procedures to avoid fraudulent activities.
Approved
Printing Centers:
In
a statement signed by Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Head of Public Relations, it
was highlighted that the result slips are equipped with candidates’ photographs
and advanced security features. These features are designed to ensure the
authenticity of the slips and prevent tampering. Dr. Benjamin stressed that
result slips should only be printed from approved Computer-Based Test (CBT)
centres, starting from Monday, July 22, 2024.
Warning
Against Cyber Cafes:
Dr.
Benjamin explicitly warned against using cyber cafes or other internet-enabled
platforms for printing the result slips. He stated, “Please note that result
slips cannot be printed from cyber cafes or other internet-enabled platforms.”
This caution aims to protect candidates from potential fraudulent activities,
such as score inflation, which are often attempted by unscrupulous individuals.
Importance
of Secure Channels:
The
Board advised all candidates to adhere strictly to the approved channels for
printing their result slips. “It is important to note that candidates’ scores
were previously released via the Board’s sort codes, so this physical copy serves
as a secure and verifiable record of their results,” Dr. Benjamin added.
Previous
Delays:
JAMB
had previously delayed the printing of the 2024 UTME result slips. However,
with the slips now available, candidates can proceed to the designated CBT
centres to obtain their secure and verifiable results.
Top
Scorers of 2024 UTME:
On
July 18, 2024, during the ongoing 2024 policy meeting in Abuja, JAMB revealed
the highest scorers of the 2024 UTME. Three candidates achieved the top score
of 367. These top scorers are Olowu Joseph from Ondo State, Alayande David from
Oyo State, and Orukpe Joel from Edo State.
Conclusion:
The
availability of the 2024 UTME result slips marks a significant step for
candidates in their academic journey. By following the approved procedures for
printing, candidates can ensure they have a secure and authentic record of
their examination results.
