Shehu Sani Condemns Viral Video of Terrorist Capturing Nigerian Military Armored Vehicle

Former Nigerian Senator Shehu Sani has strongly condemned a viral video showing a notorious terrorist, Bello Turji, and his gang seizing a Nigerian military Armored Personnel Carrier (APC). The video, which has been circulating widely, depicts Turji and his group celebrating their capture of the military vehicle, a development that has sparked widespread concern and criticism.

Shehu Sani's Response to the Viral Video

Reacting to the video on his official X handle (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, Shehu Sani expressed his disapproval and reiterated that the actions of Turji and his gang do not change their status as terrorists. Sani described Turji and his group as "mass murderers, kidnappers, and rapists" who pose a significant threat to Nigeria's peace and security. He emphasized that despite their temporary successes, these terrorists "will never win over our country," adding that "it's only a matter of time" before they are defeated.

Call for Public Support of the Military

Sani also urged Nigerians to refrain from using the incident to undermine the efforts and sacrifices of the Nigerian military. He pointed out that such setbacks, though unfortunate, are not unique to Nigeria and can occur even in the most advanced military operations globally. Sani stressed that the video of the captured armored vehicle does not make Turji a hero or reduce his crimes.

He wrote, "The terrorist Bello Turji posting a video of a captured armored vehicle doesn’t make him a hero or less of a criminal. Those using his propaganda images to demean the efforts and sacrifices of the armed forces and the police should be reminded that even the most advanced military in the world can experience this kind of temporary setback."

Appreciating the Sacrifices of Nigerian Security Forces

The former lawmaker further highlighted the importance of appreciating the sacrifices made by Nigerian security personnel. He reminded Nigerians that the reason they can "sleep in their homes with their families and go about their normal lives" is because of the thousands of military personnel who are "sacrificing their own lives and comfort" to protect the country from such threats.

Conclusion

The viral video has sparked widespread debate on social media, with many expressing concern over the implications of such an event. However, Shehu Sani's response serves as a reminder of the resilience and commitment of the Nigerian military and calls for public support and recognition of their efforts in combating terrorism.
