Negotiations regarding the minimum wage between Organised Labour and President Bola Tinubu concluded without an agreement. The meeting, initiated by President Tinubu, failed to yield substantial resolutions.
Labour leaders, including Nigeria Labour Congress President Joe Ajaero, informed reporters that discussions with the Presidency will resume next week. They must first consult with their respective bodies to relay the
President’s proposals.
Ajaero
noted that Labour's demand for a N250,000 minimum wage contrasts sharply with
the Federal Government’s offer of N62,000. The Nigerian workforce continues to
anticipate a new minimum wage settlement from the government.
